Ginda Bestari, born on October 20, 1986, is an Indonesian guitarist, singer, songwriter, composer, and session musician known for his smooth, soulful, and sophisticated guitar style.
His music is rooted in blues while incorporating elements of jazz, funk, soul, and rock, reflecting the diverse influences that have shaped his musical journey.
Born in Jakarta and raised in Sukabumi, West Java, Ginda developed his passion for guitar during his high school years. He initially drew inspiration from Indonesian artists such as Iwan Fals and Slank before discovering blues through Gary Moore. He later explored the music of legendary blues and rock guitarists including B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Johnny Winter.
Ginda’s playing style has been further influenced by artists such as Robben Ford, Matt Schofield, and Chris Cain, as well as blues-rock and rock guitarists including Eric Gales, Derek Trucks, Joe Bonamassa, Philip Sayce, Andy Timmons, Eric Johnson, and Joe Satriani.
As a recording artist, Ginda has released two studio albums. His debut album with Ginda and The White Flowers, Let Me Try (2012), was followed by his solo album Soulful Desire (2015), featuring some of Indonesia’s finest musicians, including Yance Manusama, Rayendra Sunito, and Harry Anggoman.
The album was produced and mixed by Rayendra Sunito and mastered by Steve Corrao at Sage Audio in Nashville, Tennessee.
Since beginning his professional career as a session musician in 2010, Ginda has worked with numerous acclaimed artists from Indonesia and Malaysia. His credits include collaborations with Judika, Cakra Khan, Siti Nurhaliza, Pinkan Mambo, Terry, Yura, Fatin Shidqia, Melly Mono, Derby Romero, Ashanty, Dirly Idol, Randy Pangalila, and Mytha, among many others.
With his distinctive blend of blues, soul, and rock, Ginda continues to explore his own musical voice while contributing to Indonesia’s vibrant music scene.
