Moses Chuah

Moses Chuah started playing the piano when he was 7 and was a guest pianist at a radio station at the age of 10. He began playing the organ in church when he was 12.

He was the school pianist of the Penang Free School from 1981 to 1983 and also participated in numerous singing talent contests. While waiting for his Form 3 exam results, he auditioned and landed his first professional piano gig at the age of 15, performing at The Grill at The Golden Sands Hotel in Penang. He plays mostly by ear, and his favourite genre is Jazz. He later performed at several beach resorts in Penang.

In 1987, Moses joined a band called Kathy and the Klasse, performing alongside well-known country and western singer Kathleen Rodrigues.

In 1988, he became the first resident pianist at The Penang Mutiara Beach Resort, where he remained until 1991.

In 2007, he was invited to be the singer with The Q Jazz Collective, and later became a guest singer with the Penang Philharmonic Jazz Band in 2016. His favourite singers are crooners Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé.

In 2009, he formed his own jazz band with his two sons, called Moses Chuah and Sons, performing for many weddings and events.

Today, he collaborates with various singers under the name Moses Chuah and Co.

In 2025, he was invited to become a NUX endorser for keyboards, and has since recorded several YouTube videos featuring the NUX NPK-20, NCK-330, and NEK-110.
